Why Do NFL Teams Have Older Style Helmets? - what do college teams do with old helmets

I watched the Pats-Colts game yesterday and I noticed that many NFL teams are more helmets. I saw some helmets and helmet DNA revolution. Why do NFL teams have so many old helmets and equipment that have a number of universities with modern helmets?
